“The Pirates of Penzance” & “Disney Magic Music Days” Audition Call:

• Age: 5 – 18
• Provides training in classical singing and acting to students who pass the audition.
• On completing four weeks of intensive training and rehearsals, students will perform the famous operetta “The Pirates of Penzance” by Gilbert and Sullivan at the Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre on August 14 – 15, 2010. Moreover, they will also perform in the Disney Magic Music Days program at the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort on August 7, 2010.
• Applicants are required to submit the application form; a recommendation letter from their school teacher or private teacher, together with a cheque of HK$50 made payable to “Opera Hong Kong Limited” on or before June 14 (postmarked). Applications should be mailed to: Rm 1907, 19/F, Pacific Plaza, 410 Des Voeux Road West, Hong Kong. No refunds will be made on application fee.
• Audition Date and Venue: June 19, 2010, Sat, 7 pm – 10 pm at Opera Hong Kong Office, 1907 Pacific Plaza, 410 Des Voeux Road West, Hong Kong
• Please prepare to sing a short excerpt (below 2 minutes) from a song/aria in the classical style.
• An accompanist will be provided. Please bring 2 copies of the music scores.
• The result of the audition will be announced on or before June 25, 2010. An official letter of acceptance will be issued upon receipt of tuition fee (HK$3,000) from the applicant. No refunds will be made once the applicant is accepted to the program.
