Production Manager (April 2024)

Opera Hong Kong (OHK) is seeking a highly self-driven individual to join our team as Production Manager. The successful candidate will be based in Hong Kong. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage and Oversee the daily operations of the program within the opera and concert, maintaining the production in high-quality standard and meeting the time schedules
  • Responsible for the planning and management of all production, technical, and operational aspects
  • To liaise with external contractors and hire companies to ensure the production
  • On-site supervising the events/shows/educational activities setup and dismantling and meeting the requirements
  • Ensure production staff and artists are adequately trained in the areas necessary for them to complete their duties, working in the correct and safe manner, and that current regulations, guidance notes, and approved codes of practice are followed at all times.
  • Assist the show directors in maintenance activities such as brush-up rehearsals, scenic touch, contingency planning etc
  • Enforce brand integrity issues and monitor and assist in updating operating guidelines
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the GM.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of working experience in production/event management roles, preferably in the arts & culture, entertainment, stage fields.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic. Proficient in written and spoken English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
  • Team player capable of working with individuals from different functional backgrounds;
  • Proven track record of a collaborative approach to problem-solving, building internal relationships, working effectively with cross-functional partners;
  • Responsive to messages and emails 24/7. Strong finance acumen and independence with the ability to work under stress.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently, prioritize competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel to different districts in Hong Kong on weekday evenings and weekends.
